Wind Instruments
Every sound is a disorder resulting from vibration of air. Wind instruments can directly make air into vibrations which are called aerofons. Due to the laws of physics, can be simply said that if the wind instrument is longer, the lower sounds can bring out of it. The higher sounds are got out from aerofons by shortening the length of the tube of the instrument. This is achieved through various methods and depends on the type of instrument. For that reason, a lot of wind instruments are curved many times to extend the range of sound but no to make the instruments bigger at the same time. Wind instruments are divided into brass and woodwind. The element distinguishing these two categories is the material from which is made a mouthpiece or a reed. For example, woodwind instrument can be made from metal but the mouthpiece is made from wood.
Saxophones
We offer a wide range of saxophones. At our shop you can find instruments from the well known manufacturers of music equipment like Yamaha and Stagg, but also manufacturers specializing in wind instruments like Arnold&Sons, Roy Benson, Stewart Ellis and Trevor James. You can find here all kinds of saxophones: baritone, tenor, alto and soprano, which differ in colour, range of sounds, the size of the instrument, and in the case of the soprano saxophone, also in shape.
Trumpets
Another instrument which is as popular as saxophone is trumpet. Also in this case you can find at our store instruments from the biggest companies like Yamaha or specialized in wind instrument AN, Arnold&Sons, Bach, Jupiter Roy Benson or Trevor James. There are available trumpets with two different kinds of endings – silver-plated and lacquered. We have trumpets designed for beginners and trumpet musicians with years of experience. We also offer plastic signal trumpet.
Flutes
In our offer we have got simple and transverse flutes. You will also find here a world leader Yamaha instruments, but also smaller producers. We offer flutes fitted for learning playing which will be useful for students in music school. We cannot forget that the flutes are beautifully sounding instruments that offer a viable alternative to saxophones and trumpets. For this reason, we also have instruments for professional use.
Clarinets
Despite clear differences with other instruments, clarinet can be included to the instrument similar to saxophones. At our shop you can find the offer of clarinets from companies like Jean Roy Benson and Yamaha. Clarinet can be treated both as a basic instrument, but also as a perfect introduction to the saxophone, as it requires less force to actuate the lungs to make air to vibrate. It is also the perfect choice for saxophonists who want to learn how to play on the second instrument quickly.
Harmonicas
At our store you can find harmonicas both large manufacturers like Fender, Stagg and Hohner, but also smaller. There are diatonic harmonicas, extracting series of sounds arranged usually in heptatonic and chromatic scale, giving the opportunity to play all sounds of the chromatic scale. There were plenty of tremolo harmonicas, their special feature is the ability to play two notes at the same time which are different from each other with small fraction of a semitone. This gives a characteristic rumbling resonance effect.
Curiosity
An instrument as popular as the saxophone is much younger than the trumpet. It was designed by Adolph Sax until the mid-nineteenth century, while trumpets played a significant role in ancient times. An example may be the trumpets of Jericho. In truth they looked completely different than today, but they are their predecessors. This does not mean that woodwind instruments have a poor history. Just mention the panpipes, which is named after one of the Hellenic gods.
Summary
We also have other, less known wind instruments, as well as accessories like tripods, cases, covers, cleaners and parts for instruments, e.g. reeds and mouthpieces. One of the characteristics of wind instruments is their adaptation to sound register in which they play. For example soprano saxophone can play high sounds and it is matched to the light colour. On the other hand, there is also a baritone saxophone, which can play much lower tones, so its timbre is much deeper. There is something for everyone in the world of wind instruments, regardless of in which register they feel best. Wind instruments are used in many musical genres, classical and film music, jazz, blues, rock, funk, R & B, pop and many others.
