Percussion instruments In our offer
The humankind has known rhythm since prehistory. The instruments back then were very primitive. Many different kinds of them occurred on every continent, and the natural sense in how to use rhythm has stayed with us till this day. Rhythm accompanies all kinds of music, folk, classical and light entertainment, and moreover, it joins two worlds of music and dance together. Modern drum sets are generally but a combination of plenty of different percussion instruments, adapted to being played diversely by a single player at one time.
Acoustic percussion
We offer acoustic drum sets, which are perfect for both, beginners who will need something for a good start, and more advanced players who might want to use our sets as a ground for professional and complex sets later on. We have some quality brands in our catalogue like Yamaha, Mapex, Tama, Ludwig, etc.
Electron percussion
We also present a wide range of products for musicians who love modern and electronic rhythms in the form of electronic drum sets. Albeit, they’re not made solely for creating electronic music after all. For every fan of acoustic sounds our products have a variety of different sound libraries, which successfully imitate acoustic drum sets, and more. It’s a great alternative for people that want to play drums, but can’t because it would simply be too loud for their neighbors or roommates. If we learn on such an instrument, there’s no problem in switching to real acoustic drums after that. In our offer we have some products from highly valued brands like Yamaha, Roland, Korg, AKAI, etc.
Snare drums
You stand in front of a wide range of different snare drums. We have some constructions meant to deal with professional sound from likewise professional producers like Yamaha, Pearl , Mapex, Tama, Ludwig, and more. A snare drum should be considered to be of top notch quality, mostly due to its key role for every drummer and their sound altogether. A snare is most commonly used on each weak part of a bar within even meter (for example 4/4), and within odd meter as the first hit on every other bar (for example 3/4). It’s exactly what gives us the feeling of a rhythm, that’s why its sound is essential for the whole drum set.
Cymbals
For players wanting to complete a really impressive set we have a variety of different cymbals. You can find different types of them like china cymbals, crashes, hi-hats, rides and splashes, as well as whole sets. You can choose from different brands like Amedia, Meinl, Zildjian and many more. Same as with snares, the cymbals have a fixed role in every drum set. Especially the cymbals like a given crash cymbal appoint plenty important parts in a musical structure of the beat, for example the highlighted beginnings of the strongest bars. Rides and hi-hats decide upon the flow of a beat. The same concept will sound much differently with the hi-hat played in quarter notes, and with it played in half notes. China and splash serve to add some variety to a drum set, and whenever they’re used in a smart and catchy way, they might spice the beat up even more.
Drum heads
In our catalogue you can find drum heads from many different brands. The most popular ones are Meinl, Tama and Pearl. We have drum heads for different instruments and coming in different sizes as well, always determined in inches. We can’t forget that the first drum heads on our drum sets simply won’t last forever. An overly used drum head means bad sound and quality, going as far as leaving us with no ability to play the instrument. A routine exchange of drum heads should be every drummer’s habit after all.
Trivia
The most interesting feature of percussion instruments is that they create sounds, which are unrecognizable for human’s ear as sounds bearing certain pitch. It comes with their complex spectrum of tone, and their lack of the so-called basic tone, too. Sometimes we can get to a point where we can start adjusting our ear to the pitch of for example a hi-hat, but it’s usually after many hours of work with that very same sound on a recording. A cowbell on the other hand, has got a fixed pitch of its sound when it’s isolated, but loses it in the mix. It’s impossible though to separate the basic tone of a snare drum, seeing as its sound comes with more complexities, being close to an effect called white noise.
Summary
We also haven’t forgotten about orchestral percussion instruments, and among many of them you can search through specific products from different parts of the world like for example bongos, chimes, cowbells, djembes, and maracas. We can also supply you with all the stuff you need to set, tune or clean your drums. There’s also hardware, meaning frames, mounts, arms, stands, holders, pedals, etc. You can find a good drum throne, cases and covers used to transport the instrument, as well as the exploited parts like drum heads and sticks. When it comes to drum sticks there’s obviously a variety of different products as well, starting with different sizes, through different shapes, ending on different tip material (wooden, nylon, rubber). Brushes allow you to play delicate parts, typical for jazz, whereas rod sticks give an ability to adjust the volume, what comes handy for small rehearsal spaces or chamber concerts.
