In 1961, the Les Paul model was put on hold and an entirely new design evolved into what is now known as the SG or 'solid guitar'. The Gibson SG Standard '61 retains the styling of the original with a SlimTaper mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. The mahogany body features deeply carved cuts, a 5-ply teardrop-shaped pickguard and a 22-fret neck joint. Nickel-plated hardware includes a classic Tune-O-Matic bridge and Keystone tuners. Over.
