The sound is somewhere between a single coil and a humbucker. It sounds brighter and livelier than a humbucker in standard size and also slightly bell-shaped. The Alnico V magnet and its moderate output levels help the SM-1 to an authentic sound reproduction of the classic Firebird pickup. Ideal for jazz, blues, rockabilly, classic rock and heavy rock.
